Christmas Cocktail Party

Tis the season for enjoying time with family and friends!  And entertaining!!!  I love to host a gathering.  I can vividly remember as a child my parents entertaining often.  I also learned early in life that when you entertain projects finally get completed!  And I’m talking huge projects when it came to my parents (like installing a brick floor the day prior to their party, room additions, hardwoods, etc.)!  For me, it was (almost completed) recovering the dining room chairs, and Handyman Husband mounting my antlers and hanging them.  Both are great to cross off the list!  However, we truly entertain to honor others…

The table is ready!  I had never used these Christmas dishes until tonight (I took all Christmas out this year and found nice surprises)!  I like to put out extra plates, so guests can use fresh ones if needed!

Cheese tortellini skewers with basil pesto, fresh tomatoes, and Parmesan!

Marinated shrimp!

Rosemary and orange toasted mixed nuts!

Cheese tray with caper berries and fig spread!  Along with a pepper and onion relish with crostini!

Tonight I’m mixing the cheese tortellini and shrimp for dinner!

This unique silver planter was a gift to me from Mother on our Connecticut trip!

Another “something” finally placed!

The Pomegranate Cranberry Martinis were ready to be shaken!

Colorful, fresh (and easy) blueberry and cranberry garnish!

Wine and beer…

And guess who chose beer?  Yep, Handyman Husband (and Daddy, but he did have a cocktail)!

Daddy, Steve, and HH enjoying conversation and laughter!

Dear friends Eric and Chad!  Great pic!

Chris (of Botanica Gardens), Mother, and Renee’ (Chris’s Chief Marketing Officer)!  Another great pic!

And these sweet friends brought us “lovelies!”  Peri (whom I did not get a pic!!!) brought this adorable package!

And how precious is this mercury glass teddy bear ornament!  It will be a dear reminder of Steve and Peri as she has a beautiful collection of mercury glass herself!

Chris and Renee’ brought this lovely potted orchid from Botanica!

Stunning!  And you know how I adore orchids!

And a great bottle of wine from Eric and Chad!  Thank you dear friends for a lovely evening!

Cheers!  And enjoy the day!

Jana
