Homemade Chalk Paint and Herb Gardens

On Saturday, I had the most delightful time teaching a class on homemade chalk paint!  Chalk paint is all the rave these days, and I truly believe it’s here to stay.  As Botanica Gardens held its weekend long festivities, I jumped on board with this fun event…

IMG_6889Tables were set for the 23 registered participants!

IMG_6896I pre-painted the Terra Cotta pots to save a bit of time!  Spoons painted with the homemade chalk paint were used as herb markers!  I love to think outside the box!

IMG_6897This gray blue color (found in the “oops” department of the paint store) really popped nicely against the green herbs!  A bit of the terra-cotta color peeked through!

IMG_6893Got to love a refreshing cocktail in the morning…Sweet Tea Vodka infused with fresh mint!  It’s super easy…mix Sweet Tea Vodka with Crystal Light Lemonade!  It will be your summer drink of choice for sure!

IMG_6904Donuts, OJ, and water were also provided!

IMG_6902Each participant chose three different herbs for their container!

IMG_6906Loved this variegated Sage!

IMG_6911After Chris H. Olsen told a bit about the upcoming events at Botanica, he then introduced me, and we were off!

IMG_6913Let the herb picking and planting begin!

IMG_6916This herb container turned out to be the best take home goodie!

IMG_6914How special is this three generation picture!  So fun!

IMG_6915And friends!  (A few of my blog followers!)  It was just the best time!  Thank you to those who participated and to Chris H. Olsen, Renee’ Valdov, and the Botanica staff for having me!

Enjoy the day!

P.S.  Hope you and yours had a fabulous Easter!!!
